The winery
Caparra & Siciliani is a family winery in Cirò, Calabria, rooted in a winemaking tradition dating to 1908, when brothers Francesco and Salvatore Caparra brought their wine to the Rome Exposition and returned with a Silver Medal. In 1963, the Caparra and Siciliani families - united by friendship formed during their university years - merged their vineyards and expertise into a single estate. The winery is built around the two historic native varieties that define Cirò: Gaglioppo for the reds and rosés, and Greco Bianco for the whites.

Region
A wild, sun-baked peninsula at the toe of Italy's boot, where rugged mountains, poor soils and extreme diurnal shifts force vines to produce grapes of intense concentration and character. Gaglioppo — the backbone of Cirò, one of Italy's oldest appellations — yields structured, earthy reds with a distinctive rustic elegance; Greco Bianco in Bianco di Gerace produces one of Italy's most extraordinary dessert wines. For HoReCa buyers, Calabria is a genuine discovery region — low production volumes, strong typicity and a compelling underdog narrative that resonates with guests and sommeliers alike.
