The winery
A land rich in history and tradition, it is said that the first settlements in this area date back to between the 4th and 3rd centuries B.C. Following the Edict of Constantine, which granted freedom of worship throughout the empire, many began to abandon the comforts and riches of city life in search of peaceful, secluded places where they could meditate and pray. These men became known as “Pater,” inspired by the hermits of the Nile Valley. Born from the desire to celebrate and share the roots of its homeland, Nativ chose to establish itself in Paternopoli—a place steeped in history and tradition. Here, in the beating heart of the winery, the art of winemaking and bottling is carried out with care, dedication, and passion.

Wine details
Greco di Tufo DOCG from Paternopoli, Irpinia - its name referencing the 25 stone steps ("rare" in local dialect) linking the old town to the quarter rebuilt after the 1980 earthquake. Selected bunches, gentle pressing, stainless steel aging followed by a brief passage in 225L French oak barriques. Very fresh on the nose with pronounced fruit character - white peach and hawthorn blossom. Fresh and complex on the palate. Best with seafood, shellfish, mussels, sea urchin pasta, grilled white meats…
Region
Volcanic complexity meets ancient viticulture across Vesuvius, Irpinia and the southern coast. Fiano and Greco rank among Italy's finest whites; Taurasi delivers Aglianico at its most powerful. Strong terroir credibility, food-pairing versatility and margins that work across all menu tiers.
