The winery
Cantina del Taburno is based in Foglianise, at the foot of Monte Taburno in the Sannio Beneventano. Established in 1972. Fruit comes from about 600 ha on the mountain's slopes, in Foglianise, Torrecuso, Vitulano, Campoli del Monte Taburno, Castelpoto, Apollosa, Bonea, Montesarchio, Ponte, Tocco Caudio, Paupisi and Benevento, supplied by local growers. Reds rest in large oak casks and barriques in the historic bottaia. Production includes whites, reds, sparkling wines, selections and specialties.

Wine details
Blend of red grapes from Campania at 200-650 m, southeast exposure, calcareous clay marl, espalier with Guyot pruning, 2,000-3,500 vines/ha. Hand-harvested in the first half of September in small containers; crushed, then long fermentation without maceration at 14-16 °C; ageing on fine lees with periodic bâtonnage. Soft, with delicate floral notes and a caramelised finish. Serve at 10-12 °C.
Region
Volcanic complexity meets ancient viticulture across Vesuvius, Irpinia and the southern coast. Fiano and Greco rank among Italy's finest whites; Taurasi delivers Aglianico at its most powerful. Strong terroir credibility, food-pairing versatility and margins that work across all menu tiers.
