The winery
Villa Raiano was founded in 1996 in the former olive mill of the Basso family in Raiano, Serino in the province of Avellino. The winery, built in 2009 on a hill in San Michele di Serino, is surrounded by vineyards and chestnut woods and overlooks the Sabato Valley from its source at the foot of Mount Terminio to Altavilla Irpina. The Classici range is inspired by Irpinian tradition, blending grapes from different areas to achieve balance and expression.

Description
Taurasi DOCG 100% Aglianico from Castelfranci in the province of Avellino at 550 meters altitude. Guyot trained with 4500 vines per hectare and yields of 60 quintals per hectare. Calcareous tuff soils on yellow marl with good organic matter. Harvest between late October and early November. Fermentation in stainless steel with daily pump overs and punch downs and 10 to 20 days of skin maceration depending on the vintage.
