The winery
Villa Raiano was founded in 1996 in the former olive mill of the Basso family in Raiano, Serino in the province of Avellino. The winery, built in 2009 on a hill in San Michele di Serino, is surrounded by vineyards and chestnut woods and overlooks the Sabato Valley from its source at the foot of Mount Terminio to Altavilla Irpina. The Classici range is inspired by Irpinian tradition, blending grapes from different areas to achieve balance and expression.

Description
Taurasi Riserva DOCG 100% Aglianico from Castelfranci in the province of Avellino at 450 meters altitude. Grown on traditional Avellino pergola with 2500 vines per hectare and yields of 30 quintals per hectare. Clay limestone soils on yellow marl with good organic matter. Harvest in the first week of November. Fermentation in stainless steel with daily punch downs and 15 to 20 days of skin maceration.
