The winery
Cantina Ruggieri was founded in Lizzano following the vision of Luigi Ruggieri, who in 1959 united local growers to enhance Salento’s native viticulture. Officially established with the 1961 harvest, the winery combines traditional farming with modern winemaking techniques. Today, with over 400 growers and 500 hectares of vineyards, Cantina Ruggieri produces wines rooted in the identity of Salento, focusing on quality, innovation, and the valorization of native grape varieties.

Wine details
Cantina Ruggieri Negroamaro Rosato IGP is a fresh and elegant rosé wine made from 100% Negroamaro grapes grown in the vineyards of Lizzano. Produced through short skin maceration and white vinification, it preserves brightness and aromatic finesse. Pale pink and crystalline in color, it reveals delicate aromas of rose petals and pomegranate. Fresh, balanced, and smooth on the palate, it pairs beautifully with seafood soups, baked fish, Italian appetizers, and young cheeses.
Region
Old-vine Primitivo and Negroamaro deliver concentration, warmth and character from Italy's sun-drenched heel. Manduria and Salice Salentino lead on quality; Fiano Minutolo and Verdeca are emerging whites. Generous extraction, broad guest appeal and strong by-the-glass margins.
